The Five key principles of geotourism

The first three characteristics are considered to be essential for a product to be considered ‘geotourism’ while the last two characteristics are viewed as being desirable for all forms of tourism(Dowling,2011).

1.      geologically based
2.      sustainable
3.      educative
4.      locally beneficial
5.      generates tourist satisfaction
